Royal Rumble is the season of major WWE returns and this year it’s no different. Among the many names expected to return, Naomi’s name is a prominent one. Naomi’s return to the company after her sour departure would make it much sweeter. But amidst the rumors, she called out a TNA Legend on social media.

Will Naomi keep her promise?

Former WWE Champion and TNA Champion, Trinity Fatu aka Naomi (WWE ring name) took to X on January 20th to post a message for former TNA Champion and Legend, Gail Kim. She tweeted, “Gail don’t tease me like that… 😏”

Naomi’s message was in response to Gail Kim’s tweet on January 19th that read, “She did? Bc we still have to wrestle each other! Right, @TheTrinity_Fatu 😁😁🤣”. Kim’s tweet was in response to a tweet from WrestleOps on January 19th with a picture of Naomi. The tweet read, “Trinity (Naomi) bid farewell to TNA tonight.”

Now, let’s try to recall the chain of events that ultimately led to Naomi’s tweet. Naomi, recently lost her TNA World title to Jordynne Grace at Hard to Kill PPV, last week. Though Grace won a hard-fought match to start her era, it also brought an end to a triumphant run from Naomi. But amidst the loss, there are rumors of a return to WWE by Royal Rumble for Naomi.

While WrestleOps called that it was Naomi’s last appearance at TNA, recently named back to TNA from Impact Wrestling, Gail Kim responded comically by reminding Naomi that she hasn’t fought Gail Kim yet. Well, Gail Kim retired from TNA in 2019 and is a big advocate for Naomi, even helping her to book a deal with TNA in 2022.

Hence, Naomi responded immediately to the tweet in an emotional manner as she expressed her sorrow amidst the sorrow. The tweet from Naomi sort of confirms her departure from TNA and also could confirm her return to WWE.

But a few days ago, Naomi challenged Jordynne Grace for a rematch through X. Well, we can assume that it was probably a bluff by Naomi to downplay the rumours and make her return more surprising. It is not known if she will return as Naomi or Trinity Fatu, but reports suggest that she is one of the top contenders to win the Royal Rumble this year.
