Drew McIntyre Recalls Roman Reigns Wanting to Prove He Was ‘a Hundred Percent’ on First Meeting

In less than 2 months after defeating cancer, Roman Reigns demolished Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania 35. It was his first singles match since October 2018.

Six months prior to that, ‘The Big Dog’ shocked the world when he announced in a Raw segment that he was battling leukemia for a second time.

Recently, Drew McIntyre expressed his thoughts on battling Reigns after the latter’s return.

In a special interview by a fan, Drew McIntyre revealed his feelings about wrestling a recovering Roman Reigns. McIntyre cleverly answered the question, as well as promoted his book. He said,

“Yeah for sure. I detailed it all right here on my book, The Chosen Destiny [showing the book]. But yeah, it was cool that: one, the company had that kind of trust in me and two, more importantly, that Roman had that kind of trust in me that he was coming back from something so significant. And he was comfortable working with me in such a big stage. To show the world that Roman Reigns was back, and he was a hundred percent”

Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns met before WWE

Continuing the conversation, McIntyre revealed that Roman and him go long back. He remembers going to FCW when he was 25 years old after moving away from Tampa, where he trained with FCW.
Steve Kern put McIntyre on a couple of shows and told him that Roman was going to be something. Looking back at that moment, ‘The Scottish Psychopath‘ agrees that Roman has been unbelievable.
McIntyre felt good to be tasked with that match to show everybody that ‘The Head of The Table‘ is back at hundred percent. This just goes to show how much Drew McIntyre has grown as a person and as a wrestler over the years.
WWE certainly did him justice by putting the WWE Championship title on him. He has become one of the hottest commodities in the world of wrestling today.
