Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the hottest acts in Hollywood. Not only is he the highest paid actor in Hollywood, but he’s also a very successful businessman.

The People’s Champ‘ runs his own production company (7 Bucks Productions) and has launched a Tequila Brand (Teremana). He infamously bought the XFL in partnership with Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital mere hours before its scheduled auction.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson launches XFL Shop

The Rock took to social media and kicked off Black Friday announcing the opening of XFL Shop with a picture wearing a XFL Hat, or should we say wearing the ‘owners hat.’

The original XFL, launched by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon in 2001, lived a life of one season. He later re-launched the XFL in 2020, but sadly, the league had to cease play in just five weeks due to COVID-19. Later, on April 13, the league filed for bankruptcy and was set to be auctioned off.

In a surprising chain of events, it was the WWE Chairman’s former employee, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who acquired part-ownership of the league just hours before the auction.

The Rock announced in early October that the revived XFL was all set to return in Spring 2022. There is no word on if there will be any changes to the rules of the league or with the teams.

The launch of XFL Shop only gives us an idea of the wheels set in motion for the relaunch of the rebooted league in 2022. With The Rock as the face of the league, it’s safe to say this time the tables would turn in XFL’s favor. Will third time be a charm for the XFL?
