Dany Garcia, the CEO, and chairwoman of The Garcia Companies is a tough lady. She is one of the most successful businesswomen and also is Dwayne Johnson’s strategic advisor and former manager. The duo together have partnered ever since their college. She built her empire with The Garcia Companies and has never looked back ever since.

Discussing with CNBC, Garcia recently revealed how she and Johnson both met in college. She said, “We first saw each other in the weight room at the University of Miami. I was in my senior year on the varsity crew team, and he was in his freshman year, recovering from an injury playing football.” She further explained how she was impressed with his ‘poise’. And also how he had that ‘it factors with his curly afro mohawk.

She opened up more during their first meeting and explained how their first introduction was nothing short of a business meeting. “At a bar where all athletes would go, I walked up to him, extended my hand, and said, ‘Hi, I’m Dany Garcia.’ He was like, “Hi, I’m Dwayne Johnson.” It was a like business meeting” Dany Garcia explained. She also expressed the fact that how both of them were into the same things, such as bodybuilding, strength training, music, and doing more in life.

Dany Garcia feels relieved that she is no longer known as the ex-wife of Dwayne Johnson. She mentioned that she wants to be known for her professional career and not her personality. Her PR team, Joneswork, deserves a lot of credit for this. They worked hard and for the last three years there has been no mention of the term ‘ex-wife’.

She feels one reason behind this is, that she is not an actor. Garcia explained, “Not taking it personally is No. 1. I’m not an actor. People don’t just know the name “Dany Garcia.” She believes having her social media and platform is an advantage. She also mentioned how she now has allies compared to her past. Dany Garcia is now a successful businesswoman and a former manager to Dwayne Johnson. She has several achievements to her name with the finish line nowhere near sight.
