Everyone remembers the blunder that was the reception to Black Adam in 2022. Dwayne Johnson was promoting the movie everywhere before its release. The former WWE champion even attended the Comic Con 2022 to hype up the movie’s release. But as we all know that the movie did not make the biggest impact on the box office side of things.
This led WB to turn down any future ideas that Johnson had promised. Instead, they appointed James Gunn and Peter Safran as the leading minds to steer forward the DC Universe. Most fans hated the idea of restarting the franchise while some saw it as the next best thing after Black Adam. But everyone forgot the effort that Johnson put into his movie.

The Rock’s commitment to the Black Adam movie
Johnson and his team of producers finely observed every aspect of the movie. They made it so that the fans walking into the theater would get a complete comic experience by watching the movie.
Dwayne Johnson took notice of the costume as well. In an interview, he talked about making sure that it was comic-accurate and looked perfectly normal on him. He made sure to cut no corners and give the full experience, but there wasn’t much support in the theaters.

To put the cherry on top of the movie, Johnson even did everything he could to bring Henry Cavill’s Superman into the movie, but the movie still didn’t break even. But finally, when an interviewer asked him about it on the Oscars red carpet, fans are rallying to support the one who heard their voices first.
Fans admire Dwayne Johnson for his dedication to Black Adam
After this fan, The Nu Geekz posted the Oscars interview, it didn’t take long for people to rally in support. Even the account also recognized the effort that Johnson took to bring Superman back to the fans.

In the superhero film genre, The Rock might have been the only one who listened to fans.

While the movie divided people, everyone considered it to be a great start. But because of the mixed critical acclaim and low box office results, WB couldn’t continue The Rock’s idea, leading to so much controversy. But we hope that James Gunn and Peter Safran can bring back the DC magic in the future.
