Dwayne Johnson returned to WWE with a heel persona intact. He first had his eyes set on Roman Reigns’ position in The Bloodline. With the Anoa’i chief’s championship out of the picture, it is rumored that The Rock would finally be able to focus the feud on the precious traditional necklace and the throne that belongs to him.

The bout is rumored to take place at WrestleMania 41. Until then, Johnson may change character. However, wrestling enthusiasts over at the Busted Open podcasts believe otherwise.

The Rock has no reason to have a face-turn

On Monday Night Raw 4/8, The Brahma Bull gave us a sneak peek at what is about to come by teasing a future feud against Cody Rhodes for his WWE Universal Championship. But even after the Rock has completed this storyline, he may not switch to being a babyface because fans like it this way, according to the co-hosts of the Busted Open podcast.

After Justin Labar asked Jonathan Hood whether heel Dwayne Johnson would continue to wrestle on the side of Roman Reigns, the latter replied, “Yeah, I think so. Rock doesn’t seem like he’s turning anytime soon. And it’s still just very weird. Yes, he’s a heel, but still a respected wrestler where he’s getting baby face cheers. He’s not trying to be cool. He’s just, he’s just who he is. He’s got to be able to do more of the mean stuff that we saw leading into the Wrestlemania…But who’s booing the Rock? That’s the thing.

Hood observed that even after the antics that Dwayne Johnson carried out during WrestleMania XL, fans did not hate his presence. So, this is a sign that WWE would want to keep Dwayne Johnson as a heel, at least until he has faced a babyface version of The Tribal Chief.

Along these lines, Reigns’ potential face turn has also been cryptically teased by one of his cousins.

Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns’ cousin teased a new saga

After we saw Tama Tonga debut on SmackDown after Mania, Rikishi took to ‘X’ and uploaded a tweet. He only posted a single emoji of a hand holding a pen to write something down. This was a signal that The Bloodline’s new saga was starting after Rhodes’ story had ended. This may also mean that we will see the former Universal Champion have a face turn as part of a ‘redemption’ storyline.
