Dwayne Johnson’s return to SmackDown was definitely not expected by fans. The deafening cheers from the 14,000-strong crowd almost tore the roof of the Ball Arena in Denver. The videos of Johnson’s return garnered 103 million views in just 3 days. That’s how hungry fans are for ‘The Great One’.

And to satisfy this appetite of the hungry fans, WWE has planned further storylines for Johnson. Plus with the Hollywood writers’ strike in full swing, ‘The Rock’ might be seen in the WWE more often. Trusted insider source BWE reported that ‘The Rock’ will soon have another meeting with the WWE.

This meeting is primarily to pitch future storylines to The Rock that he can eventually choose from. While everyone in the WWE universe wants Johnson to face Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 40, BWE reported that Cody Rhodes is still the top choice of the WWE. BWE reported on Twitter saying, “Backstage were excited about The Rock’s reactions. However, no agreement on anything other than another meeting to discuss story options. Cody is still the top choice”.

And this makes perfect sense as that’s exactly the reason Rhodes came back to the WWE.

Cody Rhodes returned to the WWE to win the WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes left AEW in 2022 and there have been lots of speculations about why he and his wife left the brand. Recently Brandi Rhodes put 2 of those crazy rumors to rest.

Meanwhile, on his appearance on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, Rhodes revealed that one of the main reasons he returned to the WWE was to win the WWE Championship. He pointed to Steve Austin’s WWE Championship belt that was in the room and said, “It’s right there, that’s it”.

Thus keeping all this in mind, WWE is definitely going to keep Cody Rhodes as their main priority ahead of Johnson. But what are your opinions about ‘The Rock’ meeting the WWE for further storylines?
