

While he came from a wrestling family, wrestling for Dwayne Johnson wasn’t a done deal in the beginning. Having to keep up with the expectations of fans and gaining his own fanbase, the character of The Rock came after a long time after his debut in WWE. So, after he got his first major moment in WWE, there was no looking back for The Great One.

From having numerous WWE Championship reigns to being in the main event, Johnson got a big fan-following in WWE. But while some loved this for the young actor, some really despise him. But this WWE Hall of Famer laid everything out on the table and apologized to Johnson about his behavior in the past.

On his podcast, Road Dogg opened up about his treatment of The Rock. He said, “I did that with verbal abuse and potshots in the ring, too. Like he knew that when they were there and he would bring it back and we would, you know, do you and left it all out in the ring for sure? But I took it upon myself to keep his feet on the ground, and that was not my place, and I’ll forever apologize for that to him.”
“But it was just, we were just in the ring wrestling, and I’m in the ring with you, dude, so you’re equal to me. And look, and like I said, in retrospect, I see we’re not equal. We’re not equal as far as intellectual properties are concerned. In the eyes of God, you and I are the same, but in the eyes of the consumer, of the almighty consumer we are not. And I understand that.” He added.

Being one of the greatest to lace the boots, Johnson got a lot of competition from his locker room. During the Attitude Era, every other wrestler was popping off like crazy. Fans were all-in with wrestling and WWE, but this meant that many were competing for the top position. Even after many championship reigns and main event matches, Johnson wasn’t the biggest superstar during that era. It was the Texas Rattlesnake himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
