Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Will Induct a TNA Legend to Hall of Fame

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for his loyalty to WWE. However, for the first time, The Rock will do something for a rival company as he will send greetings for Ken Shamrock’s induction into IMPACT Wrestling’s Hall of Fame.

The legendary MMA fighter and the first TNA World Champion, Ken Shamrock’s induction into the Hall of Fame was announced earlier this year. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion asked The Rock on Twitter if he could send him a greeting for the induction as wrestling the latter was still his greatest wrestling memory.

The “electrifying one” replied within an hour and said he will reach out to Shamrock over the weekend to follow up on his request. Even though Johnson didn’t reveal what he would do, fans believe it is going to be a video clip.

The Rock and Ken Shamrock had a great rivalry during 1998. The two faced each other at that year’s Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, WrestleMania, and Survivor Series. In fact, Shamrock popularized the ‘Ankle Lock’ in WWE during that iconic rivalry with Johnson.

The Rock has been vocal about Shamrock’s influence in his career. He even said Shamrock helped build “The Rock” character.

Ken Shamrock is already a member of the UFC Hall of Fame where he was the first Superfight Champion. His IMPACT Wrestling induction will be another feather in his illustrious cap.

The Hall of Fame ceremony traditionally happens during the Bound For Glory weekend. This year’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view takes place on Saturday, October 24 in Nashville, at Skyway Studios.
