WWE Hall of Famer Edge has written an almost perfect comeback story since his return at the Royal Rumble last year. This year, he will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. But before that clash, Edge will create history this coming week on SmackDown.

Edge to wrestle on WWE SmackDown for the first time in 11 years

The ‘Rated-R Superstar‘ is scheduled to wrestle his first match on WWE SmackDown in 11 years! He will wrestle Jey Uso in the main event, and the stipulation adds more interest to this exciting contest. The stipulation is that the winner will become the official enforcer for the Universal Championship match at Fastlane.

Edge recently wrestled his first match on Raw since 2011 on the Raw after Royal Rumble. He defeated Randy Orton to end the rivalry between them for good.

SmackDown is a home ground for Edge. The ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ has given the WWE Universe countless moments on the blue brand. Edge’s final one-on-one match on SmackDown was against the ‘Chosen One’ Drew McIntyre, which he won.

We all know Edge had to retire from wrestling due to cervical spinal stenosis. His miraculous return at the Royal Rumble last year fueled hope for a full-fledged last run before calling it a career. Fast forward a year later, Edge looks better than ever and set to win the WWE Universal Championship.

Is Edge’s stipulation a way of getting into Roman Reigns’ head?

No one came up with the odd stipulation, but Edge. He is called the ‘Master Manipulator’ for a reason. He knows which nerve to pull so that he gets the psychological advantage over his opponent, and in this case, Roman Reigns.

Edge could’ve easily asked for a simple one-on-one match against Jey Uso, but he didn’t. He knows he will defeat Uso next week, which will not make Roman happy. He will then become the official enforcer at Fastlane, where he might do a few more things that’ll put Roman off-guard.

No one can even come close to mind games with Edge. So, Roman Reigns may be the ‘Tribal Chief,’ but he cannot outsmart the 11-time World Champion. Either way, we’re excited to see the ‘Rated-R Superstar’ wrestle on SmackDown. Are you? Let us know in the comments below!
