AEW Boss Tony Khan’s knack for rapidly signing the biggest talents of the industry one after another is no secret to wrestling buffs. While it currently seems promising, this addiction is a major threat to promotion in the long run. To have everything at once is not a good practice for anybody, including the big money makers like Khan.

AEW currently has the most decorated and extensive rosters with countless big gets like MJF, Jade Cargill, and Chris Jericho in the entire pro wrestling business. But its strongest rival promotion’s key faces are still not fond of his business approach. WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently weighed in on Khan’s habit of unnecessarily luring new talents into the rosters just to keep them stagnant for years.

Speaking in the recent episode of his 83 Weeks Podcast, the 67-year-old wrestling veteran gave his take on the present situation of the AEW stars. Stating the fact straight that money isn’t enough to keep a wrestler for long, he noted,‘”That doesn’t matter he’s stockpiling them trust me that works for a while but eventually that talent wants to work yes eventually that talent wants to go out and prove that they can be the next John Cena or the next Steve Austin or the next Rock whatever Ric Flair you name it that’s why they got into the business so yeah you can stockpile them you can send them checks and they’re going to be happy with those checks for weeks or months or maybe even longer but eventually they’re going to get used to that money, everybody does.”

Reflecting on the mental health of the wrestlers signed under AEW, he revealed that they are not content at all. Moving further, the WWE maestro stated, ‘”Tony can do it. He’s got all the money in the world doesn’t matter he’s not accountable to anybody but himself. You can spend money until his dad doesn’t give him any more, but at some point, you’ve got a bunch of talents that are really unhappy .”

Many wrestlers lately left the promotion and one of them was the major WWE sensation, Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare reportedly left AEW last year to join his old wrestling home to be able to fulfill his childhood dream to win a World Championship belt. But that is, however, not the only reason.

Cody Rhodes was one of the major attractions on AEW television during his run. While he was quite the focus of discussion back then, it majorly played out in negative ways. Fans were highly critical of him, pointing fingers at several not-up-to-the-mark segments. After so many days passed since he parted ways with AEW, fans continue to dig into the reason why it didn’t work out for Cody.

It seems like Bischoff has the answer. The Hall of Famer thinks apart from the utter wish to win his dream title in the Stamford-based promotion, creative frustration with AEW’s booking was the other major culprit behind his decision to walk away. During a past interview with Chris Van Vliet, he noted that Rhodes probably didn’t find fulfillment as a wrestler under Tony Khan’s direction and hence decided to leave all of a sudden.
