Dominik Mysterio turned heel last year at the Clash at the Castle event, betraying his father in the process. Ever since then, he has religiously maintained his villainous gimmick on television and off-screen as well. But sometimes a wrestler breaks his/her character for some reason or the other.
That being said, let’s explore all those times when the Ex-con Dom broke his heel character and showed the world his real self after he aligned himself with Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day in 2022.

Dominik Mysterio shows a glimpse of his real life
Dominik Mysterio is a heel, and he directs most of his negative energy towards his babyface father, Rey Mysterio. The love-to-hatred storyline of father and son has become so engraved in the minds of the audience that they get uncomfortable seeing the two sharing even an ounce of a normal, healthy relationship.

This is why when Dom-Dom shared a throwback picture of himself standing alongside his father in his Instagram profile, fans couldn’t digest it. The same happened when he shared a photo with his real-life fiancee.
Mysterio only looks good with his Mami
Not only fans but even a WWE personality commented on the young Mysterio breaking his character online. A while ago, Vince Russo criticized him for displaying his real life persona in front of the audience. All he did was post about his real-life fiance.
But as the wrestling commuting is habitual of seeing him with his Rhea Ripley, sharing a screen ( even if it is a social media) with someone other than his Mami was just not acceptable. Apart from this, he also broke his character once because of a fan.

The time when a fan trolled Mysterio
A few months back, an 11-year-old fan trolled Mysterio on a live stream. He used the B-word for the WWE star and insulted him online. He could have chosen to maintain his heel gimmick and teach the kid a lesson with a savage reply, but considering it was just a little kid, he tried to solve the matter with kindness.
He didn’t respond harshly like he would during a TV show when someone insulted him. But laughed it off. It was a wise decision as arguing with a child wouldn’t have been a good move. All these instances make the fans realize (what they often forget) that wrestlers do have a life outside WWE.
