In a recent interview with Variety, the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger revealed that they wish to release the movie sometime in November. Moreover, the animated film will be directed by Dave Derrick Jr.

Moana will journey to the far seas of ‘Oceania’, discovering waters that were long lost. While Johnson will be back voicing the tattooed demigod, Auli’i Cravalho is also expected to voice Moana again after 8 years.

The announcement trailer for the upcoming animated project shows Moana standing on a beachy island while the setting of the frame seems both ominous and hopeful at the same time as the princess blows through a sea shell.

Since Cravalho posted the announcement trailer on her Instagram account, it suggests that she is ready to come back as the voice of Moana. This comes as a relief to fans since they won’t be seeing her in the live-action remake.
