Tamina and Natalya are the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions! Yes, you heard it right! The second-generation WWE Superstars won their first Tag Team Championship together. In fact, this is Tamina’s first title win in the Women’s Division despite being in the company since 2010!
It was a really special win for Tamina as her decade-long grind in the company finally paid off last night on SmackDown.

Knowing the family of Second-generation Superstar, Tamina
We all know Tamina is a second-generation superstar. Her father is none other than WWE Hall of Famer, Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka. For those unaware, Jimmy Snuka was a part of the WWF roster in the 80s and early 90s.
Jimmy Snuka had two runs in the World Wrestling Federation. His first run saw him rise to stardom, while his second run saw him put over younger talent.

‘Superfly’ challenged for the WWF and Intercontinental Championship several times in his career. In fact, his infamous leap off the steel cage at Madison Square Garden in June 1982 is still fresh in the minds of older wrestling fans. We can say Jimmy was the first high-flying daredevil!
Although Jimmy Snuka faced the who’s who of pro wrestling, he never tasted championship success in Vince McMahon’s promotion. However, he was honored for his time in the company in 1996 when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Jimmy Snuka’s son, and Tamina’s brother, Deuce, became the first Snuka to win a championship in WWE. He won the WWE World Tag Team Championship alongside his partner Domino in the mid-2000s. That was the only title win for the Snuka’s until Tamina added her gold to the list.
Tamina made her WWE debut on May 24, 2010, with The Usos and attacked Natalya and The Hart Foundation. Now, fast-forward 11 years later or 4008 days later, Tamina has won her first Women’s Tag Team Championship with Natalya, the same woman she attacked on her debut.

We’re happy for Tamina and definitely feel she deserves this title reign. Will it be her only title reign in WWE is yet to be seen, but for now, we hope she has a nice and long title reign. The legacy of Snukas will live on forever!
