Vince McMahon is synonymous with the world of WWE and professional wrestling in the mind of millions of people around the world. Not only did he build this company from the ground up, but he has also kept it going for 5 decades. Under his control, WWE has seen the best of days as well as some confusing decisions.

Former WWE star Bill DeMott talks about Vince McMahon reaching out
On the LI#1 Pro Wrestling Broadcast, Bill DeMott opened up about his daughter’s death. He revealed, “When my daughter was killed in 2015, Vince was one of the first people to pick up the phone and speak to me. And that speaks volumes. This isn’t wrestling, this isn’t a gimmick. This wasn’t so he could say, ‘Hey, guess who I called during his tragedy?’ This was a man, Vince, calling a man, Bill, and sharing a moment and some thoughts and just heartfelt conversation.”

“I knew when it was business and I knew when you could have a couple of laughs with him. He was always available to you, or at least in the times I was with him, and later on when I worked behind the scenes as a producer and an agent.”

Bill DeMott’s daughter died in an accident in Orlando, Florida in 2015. Being hit by a drunk driver, DeMott and his family started the Keri DeMott Foundation the next year with the aim of minimizing drunk, distracted, and impaired driving.

The boss persona which Vince McMahon transformed himself into is one of the greatest authority figures in wrestling. His iconic feuds with the likes of Mankind, Steve Austin, The Rock, and The Undertaker, saw his many layers as a performer. This also ended with McMahon becoming the Royal Rumble winner and the WWE Champion as well.
