Ex-WWE Star, Who Almost Died in 2021, Gives a Disturbing Health Update: “I’m Not Great..”

There was no time that was more difficult for the wrestling industry and WWE than the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything was closed, from the arenas to the food stalls. Everything about live wrestling had died. But most importantly, this led to a lot of wrestling being in harm’s way because of this virus.

Wrestling at that time meant putting your life on the line. The virus afflicted many wrestlers that we knew and loved, but most of them got out safely. But one health scare got the entire wrestling world praying for him when he revealed that he had suffered heart attacks while being positive.

In a tweet, Keith Lee, the former NXT World, and North American Champion revealed, “Physically… I am not great. But that will change with time. Mentally…. under construction. But. I will be better, I will be stronger, I will rise…. and I will be… Excellent.”

This came after his tag team partner, Swerve Strickland, switch sides and beat him down with two new AEW stars. During the Holiday Bash episode of AEW, the three beat up Lee and laid him on the steel steps, and placed a cement brick on his chest. Then Strickland jumped from the top rope and landed his feet on the brick.

Keith Lee, just like in his NXT days, has been killing it in the ring in AEW. His performances regularly put people on notice to watch his matches specifically. But unlike NXT, Lee entered the tag team division in this company. His chemistry with his partner, Swerve Strickland, another fellow NXT wrestler, was random at first. But the two quickly proved their haters wrong and put on bangers after bangers.

His championship victory shocked everyone in the audience. Their run as champion was also immaculate, but they lost their titles earlier this year, which led to this program. Now that Lee is alone, it looks like he could go for any of the singles titles. But first, he has to put down the two guys and his former partner.
