On Monday Night Raw: May 3, 2021, Eva Marie returned to WWE and announced her official return. Even though she hasn’t specified in what capacity she is returning, her claim shows she wants to be one of the top women in WWE.

Some of the fans have reacted rather negatively to the situation.

They’ve questioned Eva Marie’s capabilities as a wrestler and why the company brought her back at this time.

However, this isn’t the first time the company is bringing back or hiring someone after releasing Superstars. Right after releasing the Superstars, WWE hired Pat McAfee as a SmackDown commentator and analyst and Megan Morant as SmackDown backstage correspondent.

Mickie James’ reaction to the situation was perhaps the most interesting. She was one of the Superstars whom WWE released. Furthermore, a particular employee sent her stuff to her in a trash bag, which led to a tremendous uproar on social media and the company faced massive backlash.

On the other hand, there are fans who are genuinely excited about her return.

Eva Marie had signed a new deal in 2020

This might be the first time Eva Marie has made her presence known, but in 2020, there were talks of her coming back to WWE.

There were indications that she would be coming to Raw, but none of it matererialized.

She joined the company back in 2013 but quit in 2017 after a lackluster main roster run. During that time, she was quite popular, but Marie quit the company to pursue another career outside pro-wrestling.

While she was away from WWE, she started her own fashion label called NEMfashion. Apart from that, she has worked in several movies and appeared on Total Divas.

Now, time will tell what role she is going to play within the company. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to win over the WWE Universe easily, considering some prominent wrestlers such as Mickie James and The IIconics were released because of budget cuts.
