Paul Heyman is one of the most popular wrestling managers. The Wise Man has built this reputation for himself over a long period of time. While a few of his wrestlers have criticized his way of managing things, some shared a good experience. There are a lot of names that would love to be managed by Heyman at some point in their careers and the current AEW star is one of them.
AEW superstar Saraya recently came on a podcast to talk about her ongoing wrestling career. However, when she revisited her days as Paige, she recalled this one wish that couldn’t get fulfilled. Surprisingly, Heyman is included in that wish.

Paul Heyman’s popularity among female wrestlers
The manager has been the reason for uplifting several wrestlers in the past and is known to add extra intrigue to his clients. In the past, Heyman has managed Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, while his recent more popular association is with Roman Reigns. Looking at all these WWE superstars, Saraya feels like she missed an enormous opportunity by not working with Heyman.
When she recently appeared on a podcast, Paige talked about how she considers Heyman one of the best talkers in the industry. On top of that, she said, “I wanted to be a Paul Heyman girl so bad.” In fact, her fascination with The Wise Man’s managing skills was so strong that she had to mention it to his face.
Heyman even acknowledged Paige at the time and ‘wrote her down’ in his ‘book’. This unleashed her fangirl moment: “I was like ‘Oh my god, I love you!’… I was very excited.” The female wrestler is now disappointed that she never got the same treatment as superstars such as Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
Paige’s WWE career
The female wrestler made her WWE debut in 2011, where she performed under the NXT brand. Paige quickly rose to the main roster in 2014 with much of her hard work and dedication. She became the youngest WWE Diva Champion in history at the age of 21.
And then she won the Diva Championship for the second time as well. Apart from this; she had already bagged two NXT championships before.

Paige eventually left WWE and signed with AEW in the latter half of 2022. Although she had retired from in-ring action back in 2018, her alliance with Heyman could have been an interesting turn of events. Like several other clients, Heyman could have pushed Paige’s potential as well. However, it is something the wrestling fans can only put in the category of ‘what might have been’?
