CM Punk context has again been dragged into SmackDown tonight amidst the wild return rumor
But again they pulled out a contradiction tonight when Corey Graves on commentary made what appears to be a CM Punk reference during Kevin Owens’ segment on SmackDown. Graves mentioned ”Kevin Owners became a monster to fight the monster of the world” from the commentator table.

This is the line CM Punk used in a promo during his Ring of Honor days and WWE bringing it up now has only fueled more speculation.
CM Punk Tears Apart WWE and Vince McMahon During AEW Debut on Rampage
WWE first started teasing fans with the return of the former champion with Michael Cole and Seth Rollins’ promo. After that, there have been a lot of back-and-forth moves regarding the notion with Punk himself sharing several cryptic messages on his social media, leaving fans more and more curious to know whether the 45-year-old will finally end up appearing at the Survivor Series this week or not.
CM Punk’s return is still a far-fetched idea according to the latest update
However, for those fans who bought these back-to-back teases and still hold out that WWE will bring Punk back, the latest update might be disappointing for them.
Previous reports suggested that there are no ongoing discussions among the WWE higher-ups regarding Punk’s potential return at least at this point in time. Rather, Nick Khan, Triple H, and McMahon voted against the potential comeback of the former world champion.
Their takes are so strong that they can’t see any evidence of the wide rumors to come to fruition anytime soon as Dave Meltzer reported.
“Those close to the situation have denied it, but it is possible it’s a well-kept secret.”
