After a blockbuster WrestleMania 39, the WWE Universe came across a monumental business transaction at the start of April. There was wide speculation regarding a potential WWE sale for a long time. It intensified with Vince McMahon’s return to the promotion in January, as media personnel reported that McMahon resumed his role only to facilitate the sale.
At last UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, beat out the competition by acquiring the wrestling promotion for a deal worth $21 million deal. The multi-billion pound deal resulted in merging two sports entertainment giants, WWE and UFC, into a single publicly traded company. A key executive in the WWE hierarchy made a monumental announcement pertaining to WWE’s company policy.

Nick Khan makes a major announcement regarding WWE’s internal move
Being a double gainer of the deal, McMahon is quite obviously the happiest with the big business move, but would it also be beneficial for all related to the company, including the ground-level employees? Most probably not.
Like every other big business change, the recent massive change of ownership in WWE was also supposed to bring some aftereffects down the line. It was just not clear in what form those consequences would play out until the CEO, Khan, had his say on this.
During the latest interview with Lightshed Partners, Nick Khan chose to make a big announcement regarding WWE’s aggressive layoff policy. He noted, “If you look at what Endeavor was able to take out, cost-wise, from UFC in 2016 or shortly after that deal was done, we have the same expectation here. We think 50 (million) is a really conservative number.”
He further added, “We have integration teams now, we’re going to get those in shape. We’re going to be pretty aggressive with them to make sure that, for our shareholders and for our company, our organization is as lean and mean as possible, and we’re going to rely on the Endeavor flywheel to make up the rest.”

Following the deal, Triple H assured the fans from the Raw stage that it won’t bring any change to the company. Does it still make sense after Khan’s announcement? The WWE executive also disclosed a piece of news that will allow some to breathe easy.
Khan ensured that the programming will be safe from the layoff storm
The good news is that the claim made by Triple H is not false. Khan also made it very clear that the cut-offs won’t apply to the performers at all. It will mostly affect the office employees who don’t form a part of the creative. ‘The most important thing is to leave the product untouched. Untouched,’ Khan assured.
Giving full leeway to Triple H and Kevin Dunn with the creative, the CEO also stated that if they want to do some experiments with the roster, that’s another thing. But as long as budget cuts are concerned, performers won’t be affected.
