

Dwayne Johnson, who gained fame through his career in WWE, has transitioned to Hollywood, where he has become a highly successful and well-known figure in the entertainment industry. Overall, he has established himself as one of the most popular and accomplished individuals in show business.

However, before being one of Hollywood’s most well-known faces, Johnson was a regular name on the WWE roster. Ever since his debut, he rocked the roster as one of its most promising and excellent athletes.
Recently, 4-time World Champion Kurt Angle expressed his opinion on whom and what influenced him to become a professional wrestler. Amongst the names he took, one was that of Dwayne Johnson. Speaking on his podcast, Angle mentioned The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, and The Undertaker to be his inspirations.
He would further heap praise on them, and complimented their talent and ability, and how they helped him complete his career transformation.
How did Dwayne Johnson inspire Kurt Angle to take up professional wrestling?
Kurt Angle began his professional career as an amateur wrestler and then went on to win the Gold medal for Team USA at the 1996 Olympics. However, it was the careers of Dwayne Johnson and others that inspired the Olympian to take up professional wrestling.

Speaking on his podcast, he revealed, ” Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Triple H. Just watching those guys in the show watching Raw every week. I never watched wrestling before. So this was the first for me. And in 1998, I fell in love with it. And I thought man, I would love to do this.”

He further claimed that all the above-mentioned names are great athletes as well as entertainers. And he believed that he could do it as well with his Olympic gold medal. And as predicted by himself, Angle went on to have one of the most successful careers in WWE, winning multiple world championships.
The 54-year-old retired at WrestleMania 35, after losing his final and retirement match against Baron Corbin. Since then, Angle is yet to don his singlet again, although he has often made sporadic appearances for WWE.
