If there’s anyone who is solely responsible for the WWE’s massive success, it’s Vince McMahon, Jr. The Big Man single-handedly built up the empire of pro-wrestling as it is today, and no one can deny that. So, when the 77-year-old WWE icon retired, fans all around the world were shocked. Here’s what a certain WWE star had to say about the crazy, funny retirement of McMahon.

Ciampa, who was being interviewed on ‘Out of Character’, pointed out the ‘craziest, funniest’ part of McMahon’s retirement. The former NXT star found it hilarious that one of the foundation stones for the WWE retired via twitter, with little pomp or glory.
Vince McMahon’s retirement baffled Ciampa
Ciampa said on the strange retirement, “The craziest, funniest part of it all was, of course, the most powerful man in the history of professional wrestling tweeted out his retirement. One tweet, doesn’t need more than a 160 characters, no problem”. He revealed that he did not believe McMahon had retired at first, but he quickly accepted the fact with little thought.
Many stars and fans share the same belief as Ciampa. From admitting that WWE was scripted and staged, to expanding the market by hosting pay-per-views in other countries than the USA, McMahon’s strange decisions rapidly made him one of the richest businessmen in America. To imagine that such a powerful man who was instrumental to the WWE’s success would retire with a simple tweet is indeed strange.

WWE stars still respect Vince McMahon
Ciampa wished the Mac all the best for his life outside the world of pro-wrestling management. “I’m just in such a different place in my life that I think my initial thing was, ‘I hope he’s happy. I hope he stops waking up at 3 AM to work out before his meetings. Dude, you deserve a retirement. You’re 77, go enjoy retirement’,” said Ciampa, showcasing just how much respect these stars have for the brain behind the WWE.
At 77, time for me to retire.

While the conditions of his retirement are undesirable, fans will not easily forget the eccentric mastermind behind the WWE’s present success. McMahon built the WWE into a powerhouse of family-friendly entertainment after he took over the company in 1982 from his father, Vince McMahon, Sr. However, things are in good hands with Triple H taking over as WWE’s head of creative. Fans can expect WWE to maintain the quality of content it has always delivered on.
