Former UFC Champion Lauds CM Punk for at Least Trying His Hand at MMA

AEW is slowly reaching the heights that WWE has already set in the world of professional wrestling. One reason for the recent rise in popularity of AEW is the former WWE superstars. That list of former WWE superstars has some young and top names. But one name that caught the attention of everyone is CM Punk.
Another person who grabbed the attention of the fans is Junior Dos Santos. He is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion who stepped into the world of professional wrestling recently by joining All Elite Wrestling or AEW.
Recently, in an interview on “Throwing Down with Renee Paquette and Miesha Tate,” Junior Dos Santos revealed he met CM Punk backstage in AEW and praised him for trying his hand at MMA.

He said (h/t: WrestlingNews.co), “Yes. Of course, I was able to talk to him. He’s a great guy. He was doing some great performances over there (in AEW). He was kind of a role model over there as well. He’s great at doing that thing. He didn’t do very well in MMA, but he got the courage to go there and try it. Many guys don’t even try it.”
The veteran MMA star made his first AEW appearance in the ring when he took part in a six-man tag team match earlier this month on AEW Rampage. Not only Tony Khan but the fans are also excited to see more of Junior Dos Santos in AEW.

Junior Dos Santos comes out in support of CM Punk
Speaking to Complex earlier, Roman Reigns fired shots at Punk and the AEW roster. Well, we know about the growing rivalry between WWE and AEW. Many WWE superstars and legends have different opinions about AEW. Some former WWE superstars have even made the switch to AEW as well.
But there are also some WWE superstars who do not even compare AEW to being WWE’s competitor. One of those WWE superstars is the WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.

While speaking to COMPLEX, Reigns said that he will throw CM Punk and the rest of the AEW roster out of AEW. Roman Reigns even claimed them to be like little brothers.
Well, hearing this, it was highly unlikely that the AEW superstars will remain silent. One of the most recent additions of the AEW roster, Junior Dos Santos, took a dig at Reigns by posting a tweet where he asked The Tribal Chief about the address of the club where he will throw the AEW superstars out of AEW.
