Renowned wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer spoke on Wrestling Observer Radio recently about the development of a Netflix documentary series based on the big boss of WWE, Vince McMahon. While discussing this, he revealed an upsetting update on the series despite the release date coming closer. As per Meltzer’s statement, the documentary is changing.

Major change for Vince McMahon’s docuseries on Netflix

The program on Vince McMahon was supposed to be a docuseries initially but was later changed to a docufilm instead. Explaining the crucial change, Meltzer said, “When it started and how it ended are completely different.” Meltzer further explained the role of Vince McMahon in the format change. He said, “When it started, he was the owner of the company. Now he’s not the owner of the company, and there are all the reasons he’s not the owner of the company. There are the payoffs.

As per the reports, the filming started a few years ago (probably around lockdown) when McMahon was still in charge of the WWE. However, a lot has changed in the last couple of years, including legal issues against Vince McMahon.

Meltzer explained how it affected the production by saying, “All that happened, and they were years into this thing, into this documentary before all that stuff happened, and they kind of had to re-do everything or had to refocus on all types of new stuff.

Now, Vince McMahon is away from having any direct influence on WWE Creatives and working as the head of TKO Holdings. Hence, the series, which revolved primarily around his role in WWE, had to change and is now completely different from the initial plot.
