Jake Roberts, who was also known for his gimmick, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts in WWE, recently made a statement that turned a lot of heads. In the DDP Snake Pit podcast, Roberts claimed that he is credible for The Undertaker and Steve Austin’s success. A WWE veteran couldn’t handle the statement from Roberts and went on a rant about him.

Jim Cornette is known for his mic skills and his time with WWE. Cornette runs a podcast on his YouTube channel Official Jim Cornette, where he discusses pro wrestling. On a question about Roberts’ statement on The Undertaker, Cornette literally destroyed ‘The Snake’ with his words.

On the most recent episode of his podcast, Jim Cornette stated that, according to him, Roberts never contributed much as a mentor. “He was a great wrestler in his day till his personal habits peccadillos and demons destroyed his mind, body and everything else. He was very good at what he did, but I didn’t see anything to Jake while working with him as a booker because he wasn’t really trying. At that time, I don’t see that he was contributing mightily to any other young upcoming prospects.”

Jake Roberts had a creative position in WWE, but according to Cornette, Vince McMahon favored it. “I’m not trying to diminish Jake as the talent that he was but for him to say that The Undertaker wouldn’t be anybody or Steve Austin wouldn’t be anybody without me, oh please! That was a favor job that he was given.”

Jim Cornette called Jake Roberts a ‘failure’

It seems like Jim Cornette never liked Jake Roberts that much. Cornette also opened up about the past days of Roberts with WWE. “The guy is such a fu**ing failure as an adult male human being that he gets a job for the WWE when nobody else in the wrestling business is anxious to hire him. And he comes up there with no driver’s license because he hasn’t had charge of his own life and so he’s got no driver’s license so people have to carry him around.”

Jim Cornette also used to drive Roberts around when they were both working at WWE. Looks like Jake Roberts didn’t think much before giving his statement about Taker and Austin.
