Former WWE Superstar Rushed to Emergency Room After Brutal Spot in Wrestling Match

Injuries are a part of the life of a pro wrestler. At one point or the other, a pro wrestler suffers from an injury in his pro wrestling career. Recently, former WWE superstar Lio Rush got injured during the recent PWG Battle of Los Angeles event.

Even though Lio got the victory over Buddy Matthews by disqualification in his second-round match, he could not compete further. Rush defeated Jack Cartwheel in the first round to advance into the second round.

In the last moments of his second-round match, Buddy Matthews hit a curb stomp on Rush and continued his attack on Rush as the referee checked on him, leading to Rush getting the Disqualification win. Later, Fightful reported Rush was taken to the ER.

Lio Rush even took to Twitter to give an update on his injury. In the caption, he wrote, “Just being honest with you guys here. I’m not good. But I will be good. And when I’m back, I’ll be dangerous.”

Unfortunately, Rush could not compete in the semifinals against “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

Buddy Matthews came out and announced that Rush has been taken to the ER and cannot take part further in the tournament. He also replaced Rush in the semifinals against “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

Lio Rush will soon become a free agent

Lio Rush is still signed to AEW but his contract will expire on 14th February 2022. The former WWE superstar also took to Twitter to announce this news.

It will be interesting to see his next destination in his pro wrestling career. Rush appeared in AEW back in 2021. But he previously made a name for himself in WWE.

He appeared on WWE Raw as Bobby Lashley’s manager and played a major role in Lashley’s time as a heel. Rush also proved his wrestling skills inside the ring.
