Former WWE Superstar Signs With Universal Music Group and Two Other Major Record Labels

Former WWE Superstar Lio Rush has been a part of many pro-wrestling leagues. He was a part of WWE and was the youngest WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion there. In 2018, Rush allied with Bobby Lashley as his manager to capture Bobby Lashley’s first-ever Intercontinental Championship.

The 27-year-old later joined AEW and signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury in the AEW’s Casino Battle Royale and was forced to retire from wrestling.


However, the superstar completely recovered and got back into the pro-wrestling business. However, he has made very few appearances in All Elite Wrestling since his return. Lio Rush recently mentioned that his AEW contract will expire and that he will be a free agent next month.

Wrestlers are known for getting popular in Hollywood and venturing into the music industry. WWE legends such as Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Micky James, etc., have tried their hand at singing.

Outside pro-wrestling, Lio Rush is a keen singer and an excellent artist. While in the early stages of wrestling, former WWE Superstar Lio Rush has also created music singles like, “I Wonder,” in the past.

Rush started his music career with “I Wonder” dated September 5, 2019. The song has over 135k views on YouTube, and his channel has more than 20k subscribers.

Lio Rush signs the deal

At 27, Lio already has a new deal with the music industry. However, he wants to explore other things, as his career in professional wrestling has been a roller coaster.

Lio Rush on Twitter announced that he has signed with Universal Music Group, Thump Records, and Virgin Music. However, the details of this deal have not been published.

Universal Music Group is one of the world’s leading music companies. Universal has produced songs like Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, Rap God by Eminem, Shape of You by Ed Sheeran, etc. This collaboration between UMG and Lio Rush will help him boost his music career.

Lio Rush has explored wrestling leagues such as WWE, AEW, & New Japan pro-wrestling, and by the age of 27, he is again switching his industry to music. So we can say he is definitely “The Man of Hour.”
