It is one of the best moments in a father’s life when his kids decide to follow in his footsteps. Nothing makes a father happier than seeing his kids earning a name in the same field that once brought him glory. And if we talk about this scenario in the professional wrestling world, then fans have witnessed several legends shedding tears of happiness seeing their kids competing inside the squared circle.

However, when it comes to the WWE Hall of Famer and the former ‘Dudley Boyz’ member D-Von Dudley, then things were exactly the opposite. In his recent interview, the WWE legend revealed that he never wanted his kids to join professional wrestling until the fan-favorite WWE superstar Dwayne Johnson convinced him.

The former WWE superstar said that Dwayne Johnson encouraged him to let his sons follow in their father’s footsteps. He further elaborated that the ‘People’s Champion’ talked about the time when his father was also against his decision of joining the wrestling, but eventually he did and that turned out to be the best decision of his life.

Recalling his conversation with Dwayne Johnson, the WWE Hall of Famer said, “I had a conversation with The Rock one day, and he says ‘How’s your boys’. I was like ‘Oh they’re doing good you know…and he goes are they thinking about getting into the business…and I go absolutely not… I don’t want them in the business’…… and then he started explaining to me how him and Mr Johnson, his dad uh were at odds about him coming into the business.”

D-Von continued, “He (The Rock) said, ‘Listen if I would have listened you know to my dad about not getting into the business. I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. You never know, let them do them. If they fail guess what at least they tried and they know, so now they can move on and get back to where they need to be.'”

Not only this, but the former professional wrestler also gave the reason why he was hesitating to let his kids enter the world of professional wrestling.
