One such podcast, ‘Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling’, had an episode featuring Vince Russo discussing SummerSlam ’98. In the podcast, they revealed a lot about all the matches that night, such as The Undertaker vs Steve Austin and Ken Shamrock vs Owen Hart. But their conversation about The Rock vs Triple H Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship revealed some interesting things about Dwayne Johnson.

In the podcast, Vince Russo said, “These two [The Rock and Triple H] kinda had a steady rise, and it was almost like parallel. So highlighting this match and it going that long surprises me. No doubt these two guys were coming in their own… And think about that too. That really says a lot because the ‘Die Rocky Die’ started at the garden. When they tried to shove Rocky Maivia down everybody’s throats.”

“That started at the garden and to now come full circle. That really says a lot about The Rock as a performer… A lot of times heels get over because they are cool and you wanna be like them. But like Triple H was really like a d** heel. There’s a difference. Rock as a heel was cool, Rock was never a d* Triple H was always a d** so I can kinda see that transition over to The Rock”
