Bill Goldberg shocked the wrestling world by returning to WWE in 2006. Following his return, he showed the world why he is considered one of the greatest wrestlers ever to battle inside the squared circle.
Following his return, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes. During an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed he came back to WWE for a number of reasons.
Goldberg said, “First and foremost, because I owed the business something that I hadn’t given in the past. After a 16 year hiatus and obviously the birth of our son, it all changed.”

“I felt really guilty about receiving so much from the business and then not really giving back, per the fans,” he added.

Further, Pat McAfee asked the WWE Hall of Famer if it was an easier transition when he returned to WWE. He mentioned that almost everyone in the business at that time grew up as Goldberg’s fan.
In reply to it, Goldberg revealed it was easier. Further, he added, “My father was of the opinion that you are only as good as your next game and next surgery.”

During the interview, Bill revealed that still has one more match left on his current WWE contract.

Goldberg became the WWE Universal Champion following his return to WWE
Back in the early days of his wrestling career, Goldberg won many championships and achieved many records. But winning a championship in his 50s showed that Goldberg still had that determination in him.
In 2017, the WWE legend defeated Kevin Owens to win the WWE Universal Championship for the first time. However, his title reign did not last long.

At WrestleMania 33, Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg and became the WWE Universal Champion. It looked like the perfect revenge for Brock Lesnar after he got defeated by Goldberg at WWE WrestleMania XX in 2004.
Bill also fought for the WWE Championship at the 2021 Royal Rumble PPV and at the 2021 SummerSlam PPV. But unfortunately, he wasn’t successful in winning the WWE Championship on both occasions.
