While many regard Dwayne Johnson with the pristine and luxurious lives of multi-millionaire high-profile celebrities, he is one of the most grounded actors in Hollywood. His many vehicles and houses might showcase his love of materialism and wealth, but his Instagram reels and posts display a kind-hearted soul. Whether it be making homemade cookies or showing his daughters’ artistry on his face, The Rock is one of a kind.

So it comes as no surprise at all that he is a massive animal lover. We all know about his two massive bulldogs. One named after his character in the Fast and Furious series. But the other, Brutus, died in 2015 after eating a toxic substance. But it seems like his kennel has just grown a little with the little Turbo his family adopted recently.

Dwayne Johnson reveals the story behind owning a new dog

In a recent talk show appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, hosted by Kerry Washington, DJ reveals the story behind adopting Turbo. He narrates, “Okay so we went to this place called Wagmore, which I highly recommend you guys go to. So I have to tell you the story about the little turbo. So I’m at work, I’m in my office and I get the face time call from my wife Lauren, gotta pick it up. And I pick it up and it’s little Jazzy, and she’s six and she’s so happy and the first thing out of her mouth, she goes, Daddy, can we keep him?”

“I look and she’s sh0wing me little Turbo. And then Lauren set it up nicely. My wife said, well Daddy’s got to meet Turbo. So later on that afternoon, I went to meet Turbo. This is how amazing the universe and God work. He[Turbo] was gonna get euthanized.

Later in the interview, DJ went on to tell us about the way his daughters came out of an arts and crafts center and smelled donuts. So they followed their noses and found the adoption place, Wagmore. Then The Rock told the audience the story of Turbo. His near rescue at the hands of the Wagmore staff from getting euthanized and was abandoned by another family a day before. And at the end, he concluded by saying that “We were meant to have Turbo“.
