WWE Payback saw the much-awaited return of Jey Uso. The 38-year-old star finally made his entrance on the show after Cody Rhodes revealed he pulled strings to bring him back. In addition, Rhodes also revealed that ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso is Monday Night Raw’s newest addition.

All this took place while Cody Rhodes was the special guest at the Grayson Waller Effect. Despite being the recipient of a superkick by Jey Uso, Grayson Waller was just as happy as the WWE Universe to welcome the Samoan back. During a backstage segment, Waller expressed his excitement over the silver lining that came from WWE Payback.

Jey Uso made a smash-mouth return by kicking Waller in the jaw. Although Waller did not expect to be superkicked, he was surprisingly upbeat backstage. During a backstage interview, Cathy Kelley rubbed salt in the Australian’s wounds by asking how Waller’s jaw felt after being hit.

In response, Waller said, “I bet a lot of people are laughing right now about what happened. But I just had two of the biggest stars in the entire industry on my show, and regardless of what happened, that clip’s about to go viral. So, this is a good day for Grayson Waller.”

Come to think of it, the 33-year-old star lives for virality. No wonder he often takes jabs at WWE legend Dwayne Johnson. The fact that Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes were at his show, The Grayson Waller Effect, made his day. It seems like the cost of getting the two on his show ended up being a kick to the face.

Off-topic, Waller then joked that he was “over” Cathy Kelley sliding into his DMs before leaving. Kelley, who tried to no-sell Waller’s remark, said, “I don’t DM him.” It will be interesting to see if that story develops. Nonetheless, the question remains, will Grayson Waller look to exact revenge for the superkick?

As noted earlier, Cody Rhodes revealed that Jey Uso was officially signed to Monday Night Raw. This alone indicates that Uso will not make any appearances on SmackDown. Given that Waller is signed to SmackDown, it is highly unlikely that he would pursue Jey Uso.

As for Jey Uso, it is evident that he has been kept away from The Bloodline and Jimmy Uso for a few months. This is because WWE wants the brother vs. brother match to take place at WrestleMania. Until then, ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso may get a shot at Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship. A lot remains to be seen.
