In a recent interview with WWE Analyst, Ryan Satin on his podcast Out of character, Joe recalled his famous “Wendy” promo, highlighting the chemistry between him and The Phenomenal One, it was not the first time that the two veterans crossed each other inside the squared circle.

Joe admitted that the fact both the wrestlers knew each other way before the WWE, knowing him personally, knowing Wendy really gave Joe the freedom and the WWE creative team took advantage of the situation.

“I think, that feud was kind of a best encapsulation of what the best of us in the WWE,” Joe further added – “Working with AJ was great, working with Wendy was great.

“You know, I’ve known the man forever, and he’s practically a brother to me, it was just very, very funny because I’ve known Wendy forever, and AJ is as advertised – he’s phenomenal.

“Every time I step in a ring with him it’s probably the easiest thing in the world because he can make anything or anybody look great, and being in a ring with him is always a pleasure. It’s never not awesome.”

The epic feud between Joe and Styles in WWE

Styles and Joe have wrestled each other multiple times in different promotions before making their big switch into the world’s biggest wrestling promotion WWE.

Their first major feud in the WWE came before SummerSlam where Joe cut the infamous “Wendy” promo, where he crossed all the lines and involved AJ’s family in the feud, the bout ended in a DQ when Joe pushed AJ to the limit and hit Styles with a steel chair.

In 2018, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles faced off again, sparking their rivalry again. The two superstars met in Hell in a Cell for the WWE Championship.
