“He Figured if Any of This…”: WWE Legend Reveals Why Hulk Hogan Was Never in Favor of a Wrestler’s Union

Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. In the 1980s and the 1990s, ‘The Hulkster’ earned himself a massive fandom that saw him rise to the very top of this professional wrestling world.

But Hogan perhaps did not like the idea of having a wrestler’s union.

Though other individuals might have opted for a wrestler’s union, it looked like Hogan was not on the same page with them.

During an episode of Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru Podcast, WWE legend Jim Cornette revealed the reason behind Hulk Hogan not being in favor of a wrestler’s union.

At first, Cornette claimed Hogan was the one guy who didn’t need the union. He noted that ‘The Hulkster‘ knew the company was going to be built around him.

He further added, “He [Hulk Hogan] figured if any of these other guys f*** this up, it’ll be bad for me even if it’s good for them and off he goes.”

Why is Hulk Hogan considered the reason behind the absence of a wrestler’s union?

Several individuals, including Jim Cornette, see Hulk Hogan as one reason behind the absence of a wrestler’s union.

During the episode, Jim Cornette also talked about how Hulk Hogan played a key role in this thing.

An audio clip of Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, talking about the absence of a wrestler’s union was played at first. Soon after that, Cornette talked about this Wrestler’s union thing.

He said, “We all need to say, we all gonna walk out in mass unless he [Vince McMahon] gives us a union and bargaining and all that stuff [Jesse Ventura told everyone in the locker room].”

“And Hogan immediately ran right back and stooged the whole thing off. Vince was warned and was able to subvert that effort,” Jim Cornette added.

‘The Hulkster’ indeed became a major star in WWE and WCW. He has a key role to play in WWE’s worldwide success. The fans absolutely loved to see him in action. And Hogan always gave his best in the squared circle.
