“Heaven”: Rey Mysterio Sends Emotional Tribute to Eddie Guerrero, CM Punk Responds

Many wrestlers have come and gone, but there are only a few who stood above the rest. Legendary Mexican pro-wrestler Eddie Guerrero was one of those few wrestlers. The ‘Latino Heat’ would have turned 54 years old if he was still with us.

However, it is not the case. But the WWE and the rest of the pro-wrestling world let Guerrero know how much they miss him, and what he did for the sport.

Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio took to his Instagram, reflecting back on the time when Eddie was still with the WWE and rocking the house week in and week out.

Rey Mysterio misses Guerrero on his birthday

Mysterio expressed how he missed Eddie’s presence and uploaded a nostalgic picture of him with the ‘Latino Heat’, where we can see Eddie and Rey celebrating after a win.

“Happy Heavenly 54th Birthday WeeWeeto….
We Love & miss you so much Eddie” Rey wrote.

Current AEW superstar, CM Punk also replied to Mysterio’s post. The wrestling fans know how close Punk and Guerrero were when Punk was just a budding wrestler on the indies.

The legacy left by Eddie Guerrero

Eddie passed away on November 13, 2005, at the age of just 38. However, by that time, Eddie had traveled the world and was respected globally.

He had classic matches with the likes of Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, and even a young Brock Lesnar. In a career spanning almost twenty years, Eddie wrestled in Mexico, Japan, the United States.

According to Cage Matches, Guerrero had multiple championship reigns with the WWE and was a Tag Team Champion along with Rey Mysterio.

WWE inducted the ‘Latino Heat’ into the WWE Hall of Fame just after a year after his passing in 2006, where he was inducted by Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Chavo Guerrero, and by his wife, Vickie Guerrero.
