Vince McMahon is, perhaps, the real “Revolutionary” (sorry Seth Rollins) in the wrestling business. He not only built a global juggernaut but also larger-than-life personas. One of those names was undoubtedly, ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan. Hulkamania was arguably one of McMahon’s biggest creations to date.

But in spite of the trust built between them, Hogan still could not convince Vince McMahon to sign a wrestler, who later went on to become a WWE Hall of Famer.

That legend in question is Abdullah ‘The Butcher.’ During the recent edition of Stories With Brisco and Bradshaw, Abdullah recalled the time he wrestled Hulk Hogan. He further stated that Hogan wanted to bring him to WWE and even put in a good word for him. However, Vince McMahon refused to sign him.

Hogan said: “I wrestled Hogan in Japan … we tore the place down, right … tore down … and he got color for me … he bring my stuff like that … and we sold out everything in Japan … and Hogan said to me, Abdullah I am gonna talk to Vince McMahon … I am gonna bring in but … you not gonna wrestle nobody but me and I am gonna make you so much money it’s unbelievable.”

He continued: “So when we talk to Vince … Vince started talking to other wrestlers … the other wrestlers said oh he’s gonna do this, he’s gonna stab in the blood this and that … that was cut.”

Vince McMahon did not receive any positive response from other wrestlers upon asking about Abdullah The Butcher. Therefore, he decided not to bring him in.

Abdullah known for his bloodied style, earned a reputation as of the most hardcore superstars

Abdullah the Butcher was one of the most lethal competitors in wrestling back in the day. He earned his nickname due to his unique and menacing wrestling persona. He portrayed a wild and savage character in the ring, often wielding foreign objects such as forks and spikes to create a brutal and bloody spectacle.

As mentioned by Abdullah himself, his bloodied style, given as feedback by other WWE superstars played a pivotal part in Vince McMahon deciding not to sign him, despite Hulk Hogan‘s plea.

But that did not stop Abdullah from becoming a big name in wrestling, competing in various promotions worldwide. This included the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), and World Wrestling Council (WWC), among others. In 2011, fellow hardcore legend, Terry Funk inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
