A year ago, The Godfather appeared on the Midnight Hustle podcast. The man who played several legendary gimmicks in WWE shared his views about Hulk Hogan saying he was not a friend of his.
The former Intercontinental Champion said, “I was going through a bad divorce at that time, so Hogan, Warrior, Sid… that sh*t didn’t mean anything to me. I mean, nothing. I didn’t care about Hogan, bro. He wasn’t no friend of mine. Still isn’t, you know. It doesn’t even matter, doesn’t even matter. He’s not the good guy people think he is, and I’ll let it go at that.”

This was not the first time, The Godfather has bashed The Immortal One. However, he never shares the reason why he dislikes Hogan. Nevertheless, it seems there might be a beef between the two that the man behind Papa Shango doesn’t want to discuss.
The Hulkster was a huge draw, back in the day. Godfather also addressed that Hogan, Sycho Sid, and The Ultimate Warrior leaving WWE made his Papa Shango character no one to feud with.
However, he isn’t upset about the same as this was business and he understood the reason for their leaving.

After WrestleMania 8, WWE had planned an angle between Hogan, Shango, Sid, and Warrior. The Mania is the infamous one when Shango was late to the ring after the match for the brawl.

The Godfather almost joined Hulk Hogan in nWo on WCW
During the 90s, Ted Turner was signing almost every WWE star whose contracts with Vince McMahon were up. Similarly, Papa Shango’s contract was about to end and while WCW signed WWE stars, they contacted him.

He had worked a deal with a few WCW officials at the time and was ready to leave WWE for a good payday. Unfortunately, he stopped receiving the calls from Turner’s promotion, even though when he called, nobody reverted.
The Ho-Train driver explained wrestling legend Virgil “pop-up”. WCW signed Ted DiBiase’s former manager, who was ready to work at one-third of the money, Shango asked. Virgil joined the nWo alongside Hogan, which would have been The Godfather in a revamped Papa Shango character.
