Roman Reigns has taken over from John Cena as ‘the guy’ since his singles run started, after parting ways with the Shield. Since going solo, there has been no looking back for the Juggernaut.

The love for Reigns among the crowd will receive a fifty-fifty reaction. However, one cannot deny he carried the company on his back all these years with the shortage of main event talent and many superstars leaving.

Multiple world title wins, Royal Rumble victories, main eventing shows – the Big Dog has done it all. WrestleMania main events against the likes of Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and The Undertaker speaks volumes of Reigns.

The Big Dog was going to have another big moment this year at WrestleMania 36. Reigns were scheduled to face another WWE legend Goldberg for the Universal title.

The COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdown then struck upon the WWE. Due to Roman’s history with leukemia, taking risks would not be a smart option. In addition, he was awaiting the birth of his twin sons.

Since the Big Dog’s absence, SmackDown has definitely become a little dry. Braun Strowman had no real challengers until Bray Wyatt made his big return.

Roman Reigns’ absence definitely has left a big gap to fill on SmackDown. The Intercontinental champ AJ Styles expresses how difficult it is.

AJ Styles has shown-up almost every week despite the pandemic. However, SmackDown has considerably dropped in ratings.

Fans all over the internet vent their frustration out and some even claim they have stopped watching the Friday Night Show.

Aj Styles debuted at Royal Rumble in 2016 at No.3. As he entered the ring, the man already inside was the Big Dog himself. Styles realized that he was with a legitimate competitor that night.

Speaking to SunSport, Styles admits that having Reigns back will be a boost for the company.

“You can’t deny the fact that Roman Reigns is one of the biggest stars in WWE. He’s WWE. I mean, he’s the guy. so to get him back could be a big help.”

Styles is spot on with the impact of Roman Reigns. He is also accurate that SmackDown will come up once Reigns returns. Even Vince McMahon would be eager for his poster boy to come back.

However, it is not advisable to risk your life, especially given the condition of Reigns. It would be smarter on the part of the Big Dog to rest at home and come back stronger than ever.
