Brock Lesnar has established himself as the ‘big bad’ in the wrestling industry. Because of his monstrous image in the business, several wrestlers look up to sharing the ring with him. Several talents would consider it to be an honor to be able to wrestle against the WWE legend. Turns out, one top WWE star has already called ‘dibs’ on him before he retires.

The WWE star in question is none other than Gunther. The reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion recently revealed in an interview how he looks forward to facing The Beast Incarnate one day.

Brock Lesnar is Gunther’s dream match

Gunther has defended his championship competently so far, proving himself worthy of being a WWE champion. However, the longest reigning IC Champion still has some wishes left in him before he can even think of hanging up his wrestling gear. A last wish that he has can only be fulfilled by Brock Lesnar.

While talking to Phil Strum in a podcast called Under The Ring, Gunther shared his opinions on several things as the duo talked all about wrestling. ‘The Ring General’ also confessed to wanting to face Brock Lesnar in a match as he considers him the ‘final boss’ if his wrestling career was to be referenced as a video game.

Gunther said, “I feel Brock (Lesnar) is somebody, I just make it my thing, I make him my personal End Boss. That’s the guy that, at one point, I have to step in the ring (with) to validate myself.”

Before Gunther retires, he wants to wrestle it out with Lesnar. However, since the legend himself appears closer to retirement than the reigning champion, we might get to see this matchup sooner than expected.

The Ring General is so excited by this thought that he has mentioned it more than once. Before this interview with Phil Strum, Gunther praised Brock Lesnar in detail while explaining why he wants to wrestle him.

Brock Lesnar partly inspired young Gunther wrestling

Earlier this year, Gunther appeared in a podcast with Rob Brown. While talking to him, he spoke about the time he faced Lesnar in the ring. The brief moment occurred at Royal Rumble this year when the two shared the ring together for some time along with a small action sequence.

Looking back at the moment, Gunther revealed how he wanted to wrestle with Brock Lesnar at that moment in a proper match. He sees Lesnar as someone who ‘stands out from the crowd’. Moreover, Gunther revealed that he lost interest in wrestling for a while as a teenager and got back to it when he started his training and Brock Lesnar served as an inspiration.
