Finn Balor and Adam Cole clashed in the main event of NXT for the NXT Championship. It would’ve been cool to have Cole’s heel run kick off with another NXT Title reign, but it wouldn’t have made sense storyline-wise.

His former Undisputed Era teammate Kyle O’Reilly cost him the match and trashed Cole around the Capitol Wrestling Center. This will surely lead to a match between the two at NXT Takeover: Stand and Deliver. As for Finn Balor, he seems to have gotten a new and formidable challenger.

Karrion Kross won the NXT Championship back in August, by beating the former champion Keith Lee. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury forced Kross to relinquish the belt, and Finn Balor won the vacant NXT Championship.

Balor and Adam Cole clashed at NXT Super Tuesday in a magnificent match, where the Prince recorded his second NXT Title win.

Since winning the title, Balor has defended it against the toughest men NXT offers. He beat Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, and Adam Cole to defend his championship, but his next challenge might be his toughest. Kross wants the NXT Championship back, but will Balor let go of it?

Kyle O’Reilly attacks Adam Cole

After costing him the NXT Championship, Kyle O’Reilly attacked Adam Cole and took revenge for the ultimate betrayal. Cole tried to pull himself to his feet, only to spot Kyle O’Reilly approaching him. A stunned Cole got taken out by a somersault senton, followed by a terrifying 1916 on the floor.

Balor rolled Cole back into the ring and hit the Coup de grâce for the win. After that, he offered Cole to O’Reilly who seized the opportunity and went bonkers on Adam.

Cole went for a low blow, but O’Reilly caught it and connected with a kick to the head. He threw Cole into the plexiglass, which prompted officials to run down.

The referees separated the two for now, but the issues between the two surely aren’t over.
