Being a WWE champion means that a potential threat is looming over your head now and then. Even apart from the regular challenges, champions like Rey Mysterio often face some unofficial threats. On tonight’s SmackDown, the Mexican wrestler faced a gravely threatening situation when he was attacked by recognizable foes after his successful title defense.

Rey Mysterio’s Fastlane appearance confirmed?

Tonight, the luchador protected his United States Championship against his fellow LWO member Santos Escobar. After the successful defense, he and Santos Escobar shared a respectful moment together by shaking each other’s hands. However, this appeared unacceptable to the heel tag team, ‘The Street Profits’, and their on-screen mentor Bobby Lashley.
