Benoit quickly answered, “Yeah, I’ve never wrestled a singles match against him. I have wrestled in tags with him but just having been with him in WCW and having watched the way he carried himself, in my opinion he was a very political guy.”
He revealed further the nature and attitude of Hogan towards his co-workers back stage. Benoit continued, “There were times where he’d walked by me, did not say hi to me. I didn’t think that he carried the belt well and represented it well. “

He said, “Last Monday we are TV. and they have dark matches where the local guys come in that aren’t gonna be shown on TV. They are just getting an opportunity for the office to see them wrestle. I mean, I spent 15-20 minutes talking to these guys, encouraging them.”
Further, he asked the local competitors to believe in themselves. Benoit continued, “There are a lot of champions that I never got that from, you know, throughout my years and I looked at that and I thought that’s not right. That’s not what being a champion is about.”
Benoit discussed the ignorant attitude of Hulk Hogan toward others and how he did not represent his championship well. Chris Benoit concluded by stating that is what not being a champion meant.
