After leaving WWE in 2007, Hulk Hogan wrestled at Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling for a year. But the following year, The Hulkster planned a Hulkamania tour to Australia with several wrestling stars and legends. However, one particular WWE legend was teased to be at that event, but he didn’t appear. A former RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff recently shed light on the 67-year-old WCW legend’s absence from the Hulkamania tour.

Hulk Hogan would’ve loved this WWE legend on the roster

The recent episode of Eric Bischoff’s 83 Weeks podcast was based on the Hulkamania Australia tour. Co-host Conrad Thompson asked the former WCW official the reason behind Diamond Dallas Page’s absence from the roster even after teasing his match.

The former RAW General Manager said, “I don’t know. I don’t think there was a reason. I think we sat down and Hulk said, ‘Here are the guys I’d like to bring along’. And Page’s name wasn’t on that list.”

He added, “But I can’t (remember), there was no reason. It wasn’t like, I brought Page’s name up and Hulk said no or I didn’t call Page and he decided he didn’t want to do it. It was nothing like that (as) it just didn’t make sense at that point in time.”

Furthermore, Thompson shared stats of DDP having a few matches between 2010 and 2011. Moreover, he also recalled Page entering WWE’s Royal Rumble and delivering a good performance.

DDP recently turned 67 years old. The former three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion shared a picture on social media of him flexing his body to showcase his impressive physique and dedication. Bischoff also offered another perspective as he commented on the likely reason why DDP didn’t appear in Australia in 2009.

Reason Bischoff says DDP didn’t come to the Hulkamania tour

It is no secret that Page and Bischoff were neighbors for a long time. The former RAW General Manager shared he was close with DDP when they lived in the same neighborhood and now often have a conversation with each other. However, based on knowing DDP for several years, Bischoff shared why the 67-year-old didn’t appear in Australia in 2009.

Bischoff said, “But I was always under the impression that Page was really over it. And I think he had a couple of injuries himself that he just didn’t want to aggravate any further. So I don’t think there was a strong desire on Page’s part to actually get back in the ring.”
