“I Definitely Felt…”: Cody Rhodes Opens Up About His Initial Reaction to Injury That Kept Him Out of Action for Six Months

The 2023 Royal Rumble was one of the most anticipated Royal Rumble events in a long time. Fans had high expectations of it and anticipated many returns. However, not many Superstars returned, except for the announced one, Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes would return and win the Royal Rumble, and further challenge Roman Reigns for his undisputed Championship at WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes is on a hot run of form and has been going strong ever since he returned last year at WrestleMania 38.

However, his return last year would not last long, and he would fall victim to a pectoral injury. Rhodes would then get sidelined for approximately 6-7 months, and recover from the ghastly injury. Although WWE announced a period of 7-8 months for his recovery, Rhodes would recover early and return.
Recently, The American Nightmare sat down in an interview with WWE‘s The Bump. And discussed several things, including his initial reaction to his injury last year. Rhodes is known to be not prone to injuries. However, last year, when he suffered one, fans all over the world were shocked. Despite the nasty-looking spot on his pec, Rhodes would compete against Rollins at Hell in a Cell, before going on a hiatus.
What was Cody Rhodes’ initial reaction to his injury last year?
During the interview segment, Rhodes discussed several things, and it led to him speaking about his injury last year. The former Intercontinental Champion claimed that he was embarrassed as to what had happened and felt that he let himself down.
Rhodes stated, “I definitely felt like I let myself down.” He further claimed that he has been wrestling since he was 15. He also stated that he never suffered any injuries and almost felt bulletproof. However, he concluded with that, his injury made him felt let down, and embarrassed.

Cody Rhodes wants NFL Legend at WrestleMania
In the same aforementioned video, Cody Rhodes, while speaking on a variety of topics, landed upon Tom Brady’s NFL retirement. Rhodes claimed that he was shocked to see Brady retire, although he felt that everyone’s time comes.

He further discussed Brady’s future opportunities at WrestleMania, and invited the NFL legend to the marquee event of the year, and further claimed that there might be a future for him here.
