WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg was a force to be reckoned with for WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at this year’s SummerSlam. Unfortunately for the 54-year-old, he couldn’t out power ‘The Almighty’.

Following the TKO win, Lashley continued his assault on an injured Goldberg. Seeing his father in turmoil, Gage Goldberg rush and jumped on top of Lashley from behind. But Lashley didn’t know who it was and instantly put Gage in the Hurt Lock. It was only after MVP’s interference that Lashley stopped brutalizing Gage.

Speaking on the “CarCast” podcast, Bill Goldberg opened up about his son’s involvement post match. He said,

“I didn’t see sh*t. I was choking him. He goes, ‘Dad, when you came over and grabbed me, you were choking me.’ I was like, ‘I saw you smiling man, I had to get the smile off.’ The kid is impervious to pressure. He did four hours of homework before he went out and jumped in the ring with a 290-pound monster who was beating his dad up. It didn’t bother him one bit. Wanda [Goldberg’s wife] was in the back. If she was anywhere near the ring, it wouldn’t have made any sense. She would have had to jump in too.” (H/t Fightful)

It was an incredible show of courage and will power to jump into the ring with the Almighty WWE Champion. We could certainly never do such a thing. But hey, anything for family!

Goldberg doesn’t want to choose Gage’s path for him. For him, Gage is a hell of a baseball player and a hell of a football player. Bill also admitted that if one day Gage wanted to step in the squared circle, then he would support it 100 percent.
