Dwayne Johnson is one of the most established actors in Hollywood now. But it was not always the case, as he had to grind his way to the top of the film industry. As known, before dazzling everyone with his on-screen presence, he plied his trade in the WWE as The Rock. Johnson recently posted on his social media account how everyone took notice of his potential in the movie business.

The People’s Champ has a full-fledged show that follows his career journey from the initial stage. The NBC sitcom Young Rock is the name of the show. It is currently in its third season. Johnson shared a snippet of the upcoming episode on his Instagram account recently. He credited his first appearance in the acclaimed Saturday Night Live for opening the doors to his acting career.

The Black Adam star posted, “Things shifted in my universe when I got the fateful call from Lorne Michaels to host SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE for the first time. That’s when Hollywood took notice and came knocking. (I’ve had the honor of hosting SNL 5X’s since then)

Although a well-known name, Johnson owes his fame to his wrestling career. This moment surely marked a shift in the way the audience viewed him. The WWE legend has truly never looked back, carving out a successful career in Hollywood. He has been part of some high-grossing franchises. A return to one looks imminent for The Brahma Bull.

He was not alone in the WWE to make an appearance in the 2000 SNL. Performers Paul Wright, Triple H, and Mick Foley joined the 10-time WWE champion in hosting the premier show. The legendary trio held their own, but it was Johnson who hogged the spotlight owing to his impressive hosting skills.

And they were not the first wrestling superstars to appear in the show. The show also featured the Immortal Hulk Hogan back in the mid-80s. The Doctor Of Thuganomics John Cena also featured as a host in 2016.

Johnson has a major upcoming project under his belt

On the work front, we can see Johnson in the Amazon Prime movie Red One this year. He will be star alongside the talented Chris Evans and iconic actor JK Simmons. The end of 2022 was a disappointing one for The Great One. It was revealed that DC studios would not explore a second edition of his brainchild, Black Adam.

Nevertheless, the Hollywood star has racked up an impressive legacy as an action star. However, he has not forgotten how he reached this high echelon in his career. The actor was sure to let his followers know about such an important milestone in his success. His acknowledgment of SNL as a major driving force in his career shows his grounded nature.
