

Cody Rhodes, the former Intercontinental Champion, returned to WWE seven months after suffering from an injury at the Royal Rumble 2023. He entered the ring at number 30 and eliminated ‘GUNTHER’ in the end to secure the victory. Later, he challenged ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.
WWE fans showered love on Cody after he won the men’s Royal Rumble match. They are expecting he could be the one to end Roman’s reign as a champion. But even after winning the Royal Rumble, Cody still regrets one thing that he wasn’t able to do in the event.

Cody Rhodes and his biggest regret at the Royal Rumble 2023
Recently, Cody Rhodes appeared on the WWE’s The Bump as a guest. There, he talked about several things that include his iconic ‘Hell in a Cell’ match as well.
During the show, the host asked him about his take on the segment between The Bloodline, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. To this, Cody said that he and some other superstars in the locker room wanted to come and aid Sami and Owens, but they didn’t able to do so. And that’s the only regret he had from the event.
While speaking to the host, Cody said, “There were…probably more than ten active members of the roster who wanted to go to the aid of both Sami and Kevin…. I hope they don’t feel … like they don’t have friends in the locker room.”

He even mentioned that whatever ‘The Bloodline’ does, it affects every other superstar directly or indirectly. And, that’s the reason he felt connected to what happened after Reigns vs Owens match.

“I look forward to what takes place next…but as you say…… I am not connected to it….. I have punched my tickets to the main event at WrestleMania but I feel connected to it. Because The Bloodline is something ……….It does have a trickle-down effect. It does affect all facets of what we do. So I do feel connected to it and I wish …I honestly wish I’d been able to be there for Kevin and I was not.”

The hint of the upcoming feud
Now that Cody is confirmed to face Roman Reigns at the main event of WrestleMania 39, he might look to take revenge for Sami and Owens. His interview could also refer to the upcoming bookings where he might team up with them to feud with ‘The Bloodline’. WWE fans are already loving the new angle in the storyline of Sami Zayn and ‘The Bloodline’ and with Cody Rhodes’ involvement, it will surely stick the viewers to their seats.
