There is no one who can match the star power of Dwayne Johnson. Especially right now, when he regularly makes headlines and gets announced for future Hollywood projects. But Cody Rhodes mentioned that the main card for WrestleMania has enough star power to enlighten the fandom without the Hall of Famer’s presence.

This seems to have rubbed some people the wrong way because Rhodes took back his words in another interview. Not only did he take them back, but he also mentioned the influence of legends like The Rock.

Rhodes has been doing amazing in his return to WWE since the Royal Rumble. But nothing beats a surprise in the eyes of wrestling fans. Having someone as grand as Johnson would not only bring back many older fans but bring the eyes of mainstream fans as well. Also, it has been almost a decade since the Hollywood star returned to have a proper match in WWE. The Royal Rumble winner has clarified on his earlier statements to urge The Rock into making a return at WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes backtracks his words about Dwayne Johnson

In a Sports Illustrated interview, Cody was asked about his recent comments on Daily Mail about The Rock. He said that he would love it if The Rock could make it to WrestleMania. He added, “I hope I didn’t talk out of turn because I absolutely adore The Rock and would love it if he was present in any setting. His family is massively important to what we do and if Rock decides to show up to WrestleMania, Hollywood would love that.” But lastly, he also mentioned that they already have a stacked WrestleMania card. So, if the legend makes his return, it would be a win-win situation for the company.

The fans heavily backed Rhodes when it came to choosing sides. There were many people calling The Rock’s age and wrestling ability, something that fans had never done before. Could this mean that Rhodes is getting people more excited about WrestleMania 39 than The Rock? This is not the case with Twitter only, because every week, the Royal Rumble winner has been giving fans amazing segments that get ‘This is Awesome’ chants.
