“I Just Don’t Like the Name”: 6x Women’s Champion Isn’t a Fan of Dwayne Johnson’s Daughter’s WWE Work

Ava Raine is the fourth-generation wrestler of the Anoa’i family; moreover, being the daughter of Dwayne Johnson puts her in some pretty big boots to fill. While working on NXT, she began proving herself. However, one six-time WWE women’s champion is not happy with the work she is involved in.

Raine debuted in 2022 and joined the heel stable The Schism. Moreover, her in-ring work is limited. So, what part of her NXT run does the former WWE champion not like?

Mickie James does not like the name The Schism

Former WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James is one of the most experienced stars in the industry. Working in business since 1999, she’s been a part of many promotions and stables. However, in a recent interview, she made it clear that there is one stable that she is not a fan of, The Schism on NXT.

During an interview on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio show, she said, “I just don’t like the name.” She went on to talk about how the name of the stable is a major turnoff for her. Furthermore, she said the name represents around 80% of the audience and wrestling. Moreover, she added that whenever she heard the name, she would go, “Ew. Ew. What is it? What is it?”


She went on to justify that she knew what the word meant. She said she knew it meant ‘Split’ and that it made sense. Moreover, she added that she likes the concept and everything, including the masks. She concluded by saying, “The package is cool. I hate the name. I hate it so much.”

Raine is the newest stable member, with a few friends on NXT. James shared her feelings about Raine by saying that she knew Raine was involved and that she loved the 22-year-old NXT star. Raine debuted on NXT as a part of the stable in October 2022. The stable has been a significant heel on the NXT, gaining more traction and fan response with each passing day.

The Schism’s NXT reign and rise in popularity

During the main event of NXT Spring Breakin’ in May featuring Bron Breakker and Joe Gacy for the NXT Championship, two snatched the champion Breakker after the match. Gracy received the help of the mysterious masked figures known as ‘The Dyad.’ In July 2022, the masked identities were revealed as the UK Tag champions, Grizzled Young Veterans. However, they had new identities. The aim of the group was about inclusion and openness.

Before her reveal, Raine began following the Schism around the ring handing out the iconic masks to the fans. The mask was off during the October 25th episode of NXT, and her identity was revealed as Raine. According to her, the stable gave her the love and acceptance she needed. Being a fresh young face in the NXT lineup, fans are excited to see what she brings. Furthermore, being The Rock’s daughter, she has a massive legacy to live upto.
