WWE Superstar, Seth Rollins was dubbed as ‘The Monday Night Messiah’ early this year. This character plays perfectly into the role that the WWE needs him to adorn during the shows.
Seth has always been an extremely charismatic and reliable Superstar within WWE. Ever since his successful Money in The Bank cash-in at WrestleMania, he has moved to the top of the food chain.
In addition, Rollins has become one of WWE’s most marketable Superstars. His character of ‘The Monday Night Messiah’ has recently experienced a resurgence.
On the same episode of Monday Night RAW during which his wife Becky Lynch announced her pregnancy, Seth went on a bloody rampage.
During his match against Rey Mysterio and Aleister Blac, he launched a vicious attack on Mysterio, grinding his eye against steel steps, effectively injuring him for the foreseeable future.
This was anticipated to be a major heel turn for the Superstar. Undoubtedly to build on a new storyline for him in RAW. However, Rollins doubled down on his ‘Monday Night Messiah’ persona and has been loving it.
This is my new favorite thing. https://t.co/yiStghJVL5

Seth Rollins as the Monday Night Messiah is here to stay
Rollins recently spoke about his character on RAW, and how he is enjoying his time as the Monday Night Messiah. “I don’t know when it happened. I don’t know what the moment is, I don’t know if it’s been this quarantine and the way we’ve produced these wrestling shows. For some reason, I’ve been so in tune with this character, especially these last few months. I just feel like I’m clicking on all cylinders”.
The Superstar has been playing his role on RAW to the fullest of his abilities, successfully amassing two followers already. The cult-leader like character, coupled with his moral ambiguity, makes for an extremely interesting performer inside and outside the ring.
Rollins’ ability as a showman and his excellent mic work also makes for a fully realized character, who fans can rally behind or repudiate.
Seth feels like he’s embodying the Monday Night Messiah, and is completely emersed in the performance.
“Once you feel it, you’re there and everything just comes to you so easily. Every promo, every match, every piece of character work when you’re out there. It’s the weirdest thing, but once I hit that stride I’m just riding, man. It’s like a runner’s high.” he stated.
